Abbaye Notre-Dame du Vivier is a fascinating place for history lovers. While the buildings are clearly showing their age and could use some restoration, that’s exactly what makes it so atmospheric—it feels like stepping back in time without the tourist polish.
The highlight for us was seeing the water buffaloes roaming near the ancient walls. We finished our visit at the cozy restaurant with some excellent local beer. If you appreciate historical sites in their raw state and want a peaceful getaway, I highly recommend it!
