In 1988-1989, I was the station commander at the air base, which has now fallen into disrepair. It's still a fun place for urban exploration, though.

There is a ULM club, a gliding club, and a PPL club. I can only speak about the ULM club. It consists of lovely people who try to break the monotony of life in a distinctive way. When the weather is good, the terraces are set up outside or inside the hangar, with the large gate wide open. There is also a cafeteria with clean toilets. There is always something to see: gliders being towed up, planes landing and taking off.
