Massive border fortress on the Albert Canal.

At the time (1930's), it was reputed to be one of the strongest fortifications in Europe.

Taken by German paratroopers on 1 night.

Very interesting museum & tour.

The English tour guide was very obliging, knowlegeable & enthusiastic.

Convenient & ample parking.

Tour is about 2 or so hours long.

Definitely wear something warm & robust / waterproof shoes / boots.

If you are interested in the Inter-War period, fortifications or general history, it is worth visiting.

Amazing fort ran by enthusiastic and helpful volunteers. The rooms have been sympathetically and authentically furnished and the accompanying text is very enlightening. Amazing piece of pre-WW II history. The new interactive area is also very special and makes the history live. Definitely five star recommendation.

Great place to visit in Belgium, very well conserved. You need one full day to visit it entirely if you take the guided visit which I highly recommend! Warning, this site in not fully accessible to person with limited physical abilities, lots of steep stairs and a lot of walk.
