I went to C-dot last Saturday, with a bit of a nervous heart, because you are handing something over and you hope they take good care of it and that it gets resolved, hopefully without too much cost. Now that my computer shop no longer existed, I had to look for a new PC shop. A year ago, I couldn't install a new version of Windows 11 on my PC because I received a message that TPM 2.0 needed to be activated. Now, I had already looked up a few things so that I knew a bit about how things worked... because I didn't understand any of it at the beginning. In principle, I could just take a look in the BIOS and turn it on, but I was definitely scared; maybe I'm doing something wrong....
When my current PC shop was still around, I had gone there with this problem (about a year ago) because I had to activate Windows 11 before a certain date, otherwise it would no longer be free. But she didn't want to activate this (the TPM 2.0) yet and install the new Windows because they said that Windows 11 still had "bugs." True or false?
Because Windows 10 will no longer be supported in October and the PC store where I bought my computer no longer exists, I was looking for a new PC store that could help me further. I first ended up at another PC store; there they told me that TPM 2.0 had to be enabled in the BIOS before the new Windows could be installed and that the new Windows 11 would cost me 140 euros and the installation around 79 euros. But due to the bad reviews regarding after-sales service not being good, etc., etc., I kept looking and ended up at C-Dot. Good reviews, so I felt better about it.
I explained the problem and also asked what to expect in the worst-case scenario. Everything was explained clearly regarding the costs, and certainly not 140 for the new Windows like the previous PC shop said. It was neatly put down on paper exactly what was going to happen, including the price of what I brought in. Plus, they automatically backed up all my data so I wouldn't lose it. They also said they would call me if anything went wrong, but fortunately, that didn't happen. The PC was ready the same day and I got it back with protective packaging, plus the new paperwork stated that they had blown it out. That's also important if you want your PC to keep working properly 😄 Wow, thank you C-dot for this extra!
Everything works very well, I am satisfied.
