I bought three terrazzo photo holders from this webshop as a gift.
One of them is clearly damaged, with a piece missing. I can't possibly give this as a gift. (The other two are fine!)
I politely emailed the webshop to ask if this might be a manufacturing defect. It can always happen.
I received the following response (I quote verbatim): "Unfortunately, this happens quite often with these holders... Unfortunately, we can't replace them... or I'm afraid we'll have to replace half of them for customers. It's and always will be a cheap form of Terrazzo."
Nowhere on the website does it state that this 'cheap form of Terrazzo' carries a risk of defects. Not in the photo, not in the description. After a few emails, they suggested returning the item at my own expense, picking up a new one, or offering a gift certificate for the purchase price. None of these solutions really work, as the shipping costs are almost 10 euros, and picking it up will cost me more in fuel. Moreover, they're not complying with the law, which exists for a reason. According to Belgian consumer law, they are obligated to refund a defective item, provide a free return and refund, or send a new one.
I'm posting this review with the best intentions to properly inform buyers who read this, as the webshop apparently doesn't consider this important. So be aware of this before placing an order. Because that "cheap Terrazzo" isn't "cheap" for everyone.
When I informed them that I found the lack of information unacceptable and misleading, and that I wanted to inform people myself through a review that a/ the quality of the holders isn't top-notch b/ they're not complying with consumer law, I received threats and insults (I quote verbatim): "For all you know, you could have dropped this yourself... or bought a full box from someone and tried to replace the inferior items with perfect ones... Sorry, but this way you're helping the sector collapse. This is pure profiteering. We also consider this pure slander and will respond appropriately if we see cases like this emerge." I can only comment on the quality of the Terrazzo photo holders, not on the other products, nor on the service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this webshop.
In general, I find the information lacking/nonexistent, the photos misleading, the quality poor, they don't comply with consumer law (asking for the law to be applied is not profiting :-)), and there's no customer service (threats, unwarranted insults) and no proper solution.
Based on this experience, I would recommend not ordering these holders unless you also want to be yelled at for asking to respect the law.

En général, les ateliers d'informatique à Oudenaarde prennent en charge les ordinateurs portables (PC et Mac), les tours sur-mesure, et parfois les smartphones/tablettes. Il est recommandé de les appeler pour confirmer.
