This brewery in Southern Belgium is in a rural area South of Mons, which is about an hour South of Brussels. You'll need a car or to pre-arrange a taxi from the train station if going here. For beer lovers it is worth the effort. This is primarily a production brewery so the hours are limited, sometimes only three hours on a given day. Keep an eye on the website. The server was wonderful. They don't serve from taps but from bottles which are recapped and stored. This gave me pause since carbonation could be lost. I had almost every beer there in small pours. The server checked each bottle meticulously for carbonation. If it wasn't sufficient, she didn't serve from it. All my drinks were appropriately carbonated. The beer here is wonderful and the brewery is a small gem. If you like beer, I highly recommend this brewery. Also note that there may not be mobile service, but they have a land line that I was allowed to use for a local call to order my taxi return to the train. The server spoke to the cab company for me to get the return.

The best Saison type of beer in Belgium. Such a special and perfect taste in every bottle. They’re a small brewery so their beer is not super available worldwide. So we stock up whenever possible!

The shop is open for a limited time of hours (1630-1830) and just certain days, so plan for this. Look at their website for current hours.

We did the brewery tour for €9 each and Pierre was an amazing, knowledgeable and fun guide! We really enjoyed it.

Blaughies combines their excellent saison beer with a wide selection of dishes cooked on an open grill, the showpiece of the restaurant. The patio is large and overlooking the bucolic countryside. The service is always good and the prices very reasonable.
